The Spicewood fires in September truly devestated the area and impacted many families. We will be helping the Beilharz family as they recover from the fires effects.

Saturday September 17th

We helped two families in Apache Shores who live around the corner from each other. The first family had a water leak in their kitchen that rotted the floor. We were able to help them replace the rotted kitchen floor and but new kitchen cabinets and counter top. We are blessed to get to know the family and have them come to our church.

The second home is an old friend - Verta Mae. Verta is not able to get around as well as she once could but does not let that slow her down. She likes to be out in her front yard and work on crafts. We were able to build an area out front that is easier to get around on and is less hazard to move from the house to outside. It is great to continue our relationship with Verta who blesses us as much as we are able to help her.
Saturday August 20th

Our project was to help Alicia who we helped back in January. Unfortuanately, Alicia's trailer burned down by arson and she lost everything. We are partnering with Helping Hands in Spicewood to help her get into a new trailer and get everything hooked up. We were able to clean up around the lot and build a utility shed with a washer and dryer to go with the trailer.

We welcome your help to get Alicia back in her own home and help her get to a better place.
Saturday May 21st and June 18th

May and June we had the opportunity to help Ann.

Her house is in great need of repair. We have made some big improvements but it is a big job and still much to do. So far we have helped tear out all the old drywall inside, helped reorganize her resale items, help clean up in her yard and other work around the house.
. We helped with funds to pay for carpentry work and to pay for several loads of trash to be moved. We are going to find out if some of the organizations in the community can help some financially so we can hire an electrician. She is going to need electrical work, plumbing, structural and new dry wall in the house. We are also continuing to help clean up in the yard. Ann is a great lady and we are excited to be able to help her during this time in her life and get to a more stable place.

Saturday October 16th

We were serving at Armadillo Trailer Park in Hudson Bend. We were able to build benches for the kids bus stop. We also worked on the playground area spreading new sand and cleaning up. It was fun to work with several of the kids who live there.

How it started: This summer we began a new emphasis called SNOW.

S.N.O.W. Days Serving Our Neighbors on Wednesdays
Each Wednesday this summer we have been serving families at their homes with yard work, clean up, fix up jobs, paint, hauling, and more. What a blessing it has been for us to be able to serve people in the name of Jesus.

With the end of summer vacation we have changed from Wednesdays to Weekends. We will target one weekend a month for a project so that as many as possible can be involved. In January of 2011 we have changed the name to Partners in Hope. We have seen God grow this ministry and are following His lead to partner with the community in serving those in need.
If you know of a family that could use our help please contact us and let us know.
Partners in Hope
There is a new organization being built in the Lake Travis Community.

Partners in Hope is: An organization that mobilizes the people and resources of the Lake Travis community to serve one family in need at a time, providing hope for a meaningful life on a firm foundation.

They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.Luke 6:48

This is a ministry to help families build a strong foundation to be successful in life and weather the storms that life brings. We will focus on 4 areas to build the foundation:

Foundation
1) Improve physical needs of their dwelling – safe & stable
This happens through mobilizing volunteers to work one weekend at their home for physical improvements.
2) Connect them with the Faith community for ongoing relationship
This happens by assigning mentor families to walk with them over a period of months to build a relationship and help them follow through in the process
3) Connect them with needed resources: counseling, health, employment, social, etc
This happens through partnering with individuals, organizations and ministries in the community to bring their expertise to the family as specific needs are found.
4) Identify ways for the family to contribute to the community and follow through
with their involvement
This will happen by discerning a good role they can fill and connecting them to an organization in the community where they can volunteer.

This ministry is a work in progress. We have served two families in 2011 – one in Spicewood and one in Apache Shores. It is currently a partnership of volunteers coordinated through The Church at Bee Cave. We are putting together a Board and in process of creating the new Non Profit. Our projects are once a month and already involve several people and groups in the community.

If you are interested in being a part of this community ministry or would like more information please contact Matt Peacock: matt@churchatbeecave.com
